These adapters are used for mounting a truck with a spindle threading of 1 1/4"-NPT and the pole does not have a threaded top plug installed. Adapter sizing is for the maximum outside pole diameter, so the 2 1/2" adapter will fit a pole with a maximum actual outside pole diameter of 2 1/2", not more.
